Transfer Station Chargehand

Are you an experienced Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) or Transfer Station (TS) Chargehand looking for a new challenge?

At Viridor, we're investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, allowing for a wider range of products to be recycled. Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.

We are now looking to recruit a Transfer Station Chargehand to join our team at Shewalton Transfer Station in Ayrshire, working 45 hours a week.

The Role:

The Transfer Station Chargehand will assist in the management of the Clyde Valley TS and HWRC sites. You'll ensure that the facilities are always operated effectively using best possible practices and with particular regard to Health & Safety and Company Policies and Procedures.

You'll coordinate the day to day transport movements within the transfer station and HWRC operation in order to meet company and legal requirements and to maximise safety and efficiency. Additionally, the Transfer Station Chargehand will carry out daily inspections and maintenance of plant and equipment; communicating all defects to the Site Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Our ideal Transfer Station Chargehand:

 *Knowledge and experience of Transfer Stations / HWRC operations *Good working knowledge of loading machinery operation *Loading shovel experience is essential *Operation and basic maintenance skills of all types of loading equipment *Ability to follow management instructions *Full, clean UK driving licence
