This varied and busy role will see you providing process and scientific support to GENeco at three of their operational sites - two in central Somerset and one in Bournemouth. Your main responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with quality standards, monitoring the treatment processes to ensure efficiency and identify potential issues, and planning/advising measures to improve quality and reduce costs together with the operational teams. As senior process scientist you will prepare internal reports on compliance and treatment parameters, alongside liaising with and reporting to the Environment Agency. It's expected that you will always maintain an up-to-date knowledge/expertise of processes utilised at our sites to ensure best practice, in addition to making sure we comply with any permit requirements. 

To be successful in this role you will be educated to a minimum of degree level, ideally in a technical subject that preferably has a wastewater and environmental bias. You will have a knowledge and understanding of waste legislation and waste management, as well as experience or knowledge of waste water treatment and sludge treatment processes and their control requirements. Theoretical and operational knowledge of activated sludge systems and anaerobic digestion systems is desired. A good understanding of environmental permitting and environmental management systems will benefit you. The ability to analyse problems to secure a solution while maintaining a measured approach would also be beneficial.
