Manager – Fuelling and Sustainability
Glasgow: £30,950 to £36,670
London, Canary Wharf: £33,400 to £39,550

E-Serve is the delivery arm of Ofgem, the regulator of Britain’s gas and electricity markets, and is helping to shape the future of the energy market – delivering better energy efficiency through renewable energy sources, and protecting the interests of energy consumers. If you choose to be part of our team you can expect plenty of opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience, with the professional support you need to reach your full potential.

We are responsible for administrating ground-breaking environmental programmes - assessing applications to verify eligibility, authorising payments to participants and handling enquiries from current and potential participants. The emphasis for this role will be on working with fueled generating stations, ensuring that they comply with the requirements of the Government’s renewable electricity schemes we administer. You’ll be a key point of contact for a range of internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to biomass sustainability, and will lead on the review of audit reports from scheme participants – advising on the degree to which they meet the criteria.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience within the energy and sustainability sector. Previous experience in sustainability work would be of real benefit, and specific knowledge of biomass fuels would mark you as a strong candidate. But if you don’t have a background in this specific area we’ll be interested to hear about your experience of interpreting and implementing policy, working well with customers, and your ability to use Excel in analysing data sets. It’s an exciting opportunity to be part of a positive and enthusiastic team working on high profile renewable energy schemes.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, which includes:

• Up to 30 days’ annual leave
• Excellent training and development opportunities
• The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
• Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
• Restaurant and subsidised gym (London location only)
• Interest free season ticket loan.
