I am seeking a passionate and motivated Ecologist to join a small but dynamic team based in Inverness. With additional teams located across Scotland and Central England, to deliver ecological services throughout the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to become involved in a wide variety of projects across multiple sectors. You'll work closely with experienced ecologists in the local office and across the wider team to support the successful delivery of ecological services.
Ideally, the candidate is within commuting distance of our Inverness office and can support our local operations while contributing to national projects.
Responsibilities:
· Undertake ecological surveys and fieldwork (including habitats, birds, bats, water vole, otter, reptiles, and invasive plants)
· Support on-site ecological services such as nesting bird checks and Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) roles
· Conduct desk-based assessments using tools such as MAGIC and other online resources
· Assist in the preparation of ecological reports and technical documents
Requirements
· A BSc and/or MSc in Ecology or a related discipline
· Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· A willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
· Basic understanding or experience in a range of ecological field surveys
· Willingness to collaborate with site-based contracting teams
· Competence in using digital tools for ecological assessments
· Some experience contributing to professional ecological reports or other technical documents
