Due to continued growth in project workload, our client is seeking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor with ideally gained experience within a Consultancy environment. This role will support a dynamic Quantity Surveying team across a diverse range of building and civil engineering projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, and educational developments, from early-stage cost planning through to final account closeout.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in cost optimisation, value engineering, and delivering value for money without compromising on quality. A strong work ethic, motivation for career progression, and an ability to build lasting relationships with both internal teams and external clients are essential. The role reports to a Senior/Lead Quantity Surveyor and will involve close collaboration on a daily and weekly basis.
Responsibilities
· Prepare cost estimates and feasibility studies at various project design stages
· Compile tender and contract documentation, including Bills of Quantities and Schedules of Rates
· Advise clients on procurement strategies and tendering processes
· Support the implementation of value engineering measures
· Assess client requirements and assist in the evaluation of design options
· Conduct risk and value management and support cost control strategies
· Analyse and respond to commercial risks and challenges
· Provide contract administration support across a variety of contract forms
· Evaluate tender submissions and assist in tender analysis
· Support the team in managing contractual claims and change management processes
· Assist in preparing and agreeing final accounts
· Maintain knowledge of standard forms of building contracts and procurement routes
· Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety regulations
· Contribute to team development and foster strong internal and external relationships
Responsibilities
· Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a post-graduate role, preferably within a Consultancy environment
· Proficiency in industry software tools such as Excel, Cubit, and Buildsoft
· Strong written and verbal communication, including report writing and presentation skills
· Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
· Sound understanding of construction methods and technical knowledge of building and civil works
· Familiarity with various forms of construction contracts, including GCCC
· Self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team
