Role Purpose
This is a Senior Officer post within the Environment Team that covers Swansea.
Our ‘patch’ is varied and interesting including a dynamic city, numerous bathing waters, a world class protected landscape, a plethora of conservation
designations, an internationally significant estuary, exposed coastline, and bunch of challenging WFD waterbodies.
The Senior Officer role is pretty variable depending on the local context, environment, and balance of skills within the team. In this case we are seeking
an experienced conservation officer who can lead on our conservation and protected sites work whilst being able to serve as a technical mentor on
conservation issues within the team and a safe pair of hands in dealing with, contentious issues, queries and complaints.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Experience of project development and management. (Desirable)
2. Overall understanding of the sustainable management of natural resources, with focused expertise in conservation management.
3. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public, explaining issues and gaining support by influencing.
4. Good knowledge and experience of conservation management and relevant legislation
5. Hold a current full UK valid licence to drive NRW fleet vehicles. (cars and vans)
