Catchment Advisor

Catchment Advisor

Competitive salary dependent upon skills and experience

Working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (may include some evenings and weekends)

Based at Walsall with some travel to Cambridge

As a leading Company, recognised throughout the industry for outstanding service and high quality standards, we provide a constant supply of drinking water.   We are offering an exciting opportunity to help us plan how we manage catchments for drinking water supplies into the future in our South Staffs region.

Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and assessing data, you will assist and provide support in all aspects of our catchment management strategy.  You will prepare a delivery programme and implement our strategy into the next asset management period.   This will involve working with the existing catchment advisors in both regions to identify where and how to target and deliver our catchment programmes.

The role will involve data collection and analysis and fieldwork to collect sampling data and liaison with landowners and managers for the provision of advice on water quality protection.  You will also be required to represent the Company at external stakeholder events, which will occasionally be outside of normal working hours.

It is essential that you are able to engage with stakeholders both internally, and outside of the water industry, undertake data collection, work in the field and adapt and develop new techniques.  We are looking for an organised candidate at graduate level with a hard working ethic, great communication, IT and problem solving skills.  Experience of working with the Environmental Agency or a similar regulatory environment is required.

Ideally, you will have some experience of water supply and treatment, farming practices or agronomy and the water and environmental sector.  Knowledge of BASIS/PAS would be an advantage.

A full valid driving licence is essential as the role will be expected to work in the field, for which a vehicle will be provided.
