Operations Coordinator (Cambridge Region)

Based at Fulbourn Road, Cambridge

Salary circa £25,000-£30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

37 ½ hours per week Monday – Friday

We have an exciting opportunity in our Cambridge Region Water Production Department for a bright, technically minded individual to join our small team. We are responsible for the abstraction, treatment and distribution of water to over 300,000 people in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. The role will support the day to day operations of the Production Department including the scheduling and prioritisation of work to deliver efficient operations and maximise resources across our region.

Duties will include:

- Supporting the implementation of a new system for scheduling of operational activities and monitoring of asset and team performance
- Using the new system, coordinating the undertaking of maintenance and improvement activities (proactive and reactive), across daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedules 
- Being a central point of contact for planning of activities at Production sites, liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Analysing performance data, identifying trends and reporting key performance indicators to the Management team
- Supporting the management team in continuous process improvement, using initiative and applying knowledge gained from data analyses
- Supporting the development and maintenance of operational procedures, quality assurance, training and health and safety documentation
- Providing day to day administrative support to Production team operations such as ordering of materials, attending team meetings and coordinating departmental holidays and sickness cover

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational and communication skills with the confidence and ability to influence others. Being a team player who is adaptable is critical to planning the activities of field based staff. The use of initiative and problem solving skills are also required. We are looking for somebody who is IT literate and has experience of Excel based data management and analysis.  Being motivated to develop and learn will be met by the opportunity to gain valuable experience of working in a stimulating multidisciplinary environment.

Water industry experience is desirable but not essential. Experience in coordinating teams with scheduling / planning software is also desirable.
