An award-winning clean technology company that has industrialised the process of recycling waste coffee grounds into advanced solid biofuels is looking for a Sustainability Business Development Executive in Alconbury. This is a role that truly contributes to the Circular Economy and sustainability!

This is a small, dynamic business with offices and a factory near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. They are passionate about their vision, values and people and aim to be sustainable in everything they do whilst giving their people the space to grow and develop in a fast-moving and high-growth environment.

As a Business Development Executive, you will work closely with members of the Commercial Team with your focus being the growth of the sales pipeline. The position is based in the Alconbury facility, with some travel to London sites. 

As Sustainability Business Development Executive, your daily duties will include managing two streams:

a) the supply of Waste Coffee Grounds for the company 
b) the management of Waste Collection Partners

• Actively target large Waste Coffee Ground (WCG) contributors directly and by collaborating with waste collection partners, waste brokers and facilities management companies.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing key WCG partners.
• Manage relationships and maintain engagement with all current waste management collection partners.
• Negotiate commercial terms with WCG partners.
• Monitor and manage volumes delivered by all waste management collection partners.  Ensure the deliveries meet Health, Safety, Quality and Logistical requirements and monitor this through the quarterly feedstock delivery meeting with operations.  
• Manage all Feedstock reporting activity, with specific responsibility for forecasting and producing other ExCom reports, and for the monthly Feedstock Meeting with line manager (Head of Commercial Biofuels).  
• Overall responsibility for how Salesforce (CRM) is used for feedstock activity. 
• Ensure the Account Management process remains realistic and practical and review it every quarter.  
• Share structured reports and information with the Marketing & Comms for feedstock-related events and stories through the Feedstock & Marketing fortnightly meetings. Collaborate with Marketing & Comms to formulate targeted campaigns to raise awareness of services offered.
• Attendance at tradeshows and industry events, including representing bio-bean at relevant presentation and panel opportunities. 
• Show a thorough understanding of the waste management landscape by keeping abreast of commercial news and regulatory requirements, with a view to understanding potential opportunities, threats and challenges to core business.

To be a successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experiences:

• Must be a self-starter!
• The ability to influence, persuade and be comfortable presenting to senior management at major retail companies.
• Proven ability to manage multiple work streams at a time.
• Enthusiasm for working in a small company, with a commitment to the mission and goals.
• Knowledge of the processes and logistics used in the waste management industry, and an understanding of the waste hierarchy.
• Keen interest in sustainability and environmental issues.
• Ability to negotiate whilst remaining polite and diplomatic.
• Experience in identifying and generating ways to attract new clients and opportunities.
• Strong IT skills in MS Office, email and CRM tools, preferably Salesforce.

In return, a Sustainability Business Development Executive will receive a salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum and the opportunity to grow with the company.
