Senior Climate Finance Consultant

Lewis Davey is delighted to be working with the Global CCS Institute as they look to secure a number of key appointments in their London and Brussels office.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a global, membership driven, Not-For-Profit playing an integral part in advocacy for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) as a crucial component in a portfolio of technologies required to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide energy security.

As a Senior Consultant focused on Climate Policy and Finance, you will join a newly established UK office.

The Global CCS Institute has a global footprint.  Headquartered in Melbourne Australia and with offices and representatives across the United States, Canada, Japan and Belgium and China, you will work in a global capacity and be the technical point of contact for anything relating to Climate Finance and Climate Policy and particularly the interaction with CCS.

Reporting into the General Manager – Commercial, this is essentially a consultancy role where you will liaise with the Client Engagement team to undertake delivery of fee for service work and sell thought leadership outputs.  You will work with the Advocacy team to promote thought leadership outputs and the Commercial team, Members and clients to deliver commercial outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Contribute to growth of the Institute’s commercial business by contributing to the development of proposals for fee for service work and participating in business planning activities
  • Provide market-valued, authoritative insights and analysis to Members and clients by maintaining and using deep knowledge of CCS technology, markets, trends, industry practices, regional, global and subject matter developments
  • Produce, edit and publish materials about CCS issues, conveying information appropriately for intended audience and medium
  • Deliver high-quality work products to meet and exceed expected timeframes, budget (costs and margins) and Member and client satisfaction
  • Provide expertise and support for advocacy activities, including thought leadership outputs
  • Other duties as required

It’s essential that applicants should possess strong technical writing skills and have advanced knowledge of the theory and application of climate policy, especially with respect to its impact upon financing climate mitigation projects.  You’ll need to be able to understand and communicate the financial barriers and / or relevant merits to CCS projects.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate that they have experience assessing opportunities to finance a significant climate mitigation project, ideally this will be gained within a financial institution.   You will hold a degree in a relevant discipline and have a long term right to work in the UK.
