ABOUT US

Vision And Mission

Falklands Conservation is a non-governmental organisation working to protect the wildlife in the Falkland Islands for future generations. It undertakes practical conservation projects, surveys and scientific studies, conducts annual monitoring of seabird populations, rehabilitates oiled penguins, publishes guides and information on many aspects of the Falkland Islands environment, and involves islanders of all ages in its activities, including running a Watch Group for children. Our current work focusses on biosecurity and the threats from invasive species, marine management, habitat restoration and ensuring best practice for on and off-shore development.

The organisation relies on donations, grants, and public support to carry out its work. Falklands Conservation is a small team, with staff in both Stanley and the United Kingdom, as well as a number of dedicated volunteers and Trustees in the UK and Falkland Islands.

Vision

‘A well-functioning natural environment managed by those living closest to it.’

Mission

‘Partnering with the local and international community to conserve the Falkland Islands natural environment’
