ABOUT US
We supply drinking water to nearly half a million people from our base in Bournemouth. Our area covers parts of Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. This is an essential service, as everyone needs clean, safe water to be available at all times. We aim to provide a service that is so reliable you can take it for granted.
When you turn on a tap, we don’t ever want you to have to think about whether water will come out, or whether it will be drinkable. We also want to provide excellent customer service. So any time you contact us, you should receive a swift and helpful response.
To provide you with this reliable water supply, we have to: take water from the natural environment – our sourcesare the Stour and Avon rivers plus several boreholes, filter the water and store it in reservoirs and tanks pump the water through our network of mains pipes test water samples at every stage of the process, including customers’ taps.
And to safeguard our water supply for the future, we need to:
- protect our natural resources and the wildlife we share them with
- maintain and upgrade our pipes, equipment and facilities
- encourage people to use water more efficiently
